I am so excited about releasing the new cover for I Belong to the Earth, that I just had to write a sort post about it.. The new cover for Book one of the Unveiled series will be released tomorrow at pm GMT. If you haven't read it yet, I Belong to the Earth is a YA paranormal fantasy about a young girl named Emlynn, who has an affinity with the Dead. Newfoundland. In contrast to neighboring Labrador, the island of Newfoundland is largely underlain by younger rocks. The Churchill, Nain, Superior and Grenville Province present in Labrador were all small continents or pieces of continental lithosphere that joined to form sections of the proto-North American continent Laurentia and the broad stable region known as the Canadian Shield. The Earth formed billion years ago from a great, swirling cloud of dust and gas. The continuous smashing of space debris and the pull of gravity made the inside of Earth heat up. As the heat increased, some of Earth's rocky materials melted and rose to the surface, where they cooled and formed a crust. Heavier material sank toward Earth.

I Belong To The Earth is many things – a genuinely chilling ghost story, a confidently written drama that wears its literary influences proudly, and a tale of what it means to have supernatural powers that is the antithesis of superhero bombast (don’t expect Emlynn to appear in any future Avengers storylines). If you haven’t read it yet, I Belong to the Earth is a YA paranormal fantasy about a young girl named Emlynn, who has an affinity with the Dead. After surviving a horrific car accident leaves her with brain-trauma and a strained relationship her family, Emlynn finds herself further adrift when her father moves the family to a lonely vicarage on the North Yorkshire Moors. J.A. Ironside has produced a story with all of the power and feel of a local legend, but with a refreshingly modern and approachable twist. The work, which echoes classics like The Woman in Black, creates a terrific atmosphere from the get-go, drawing readers into the setting; a small, backward town in Yorkshire, marooned in the centre of the moors.
